  • Day 4 - Parma, Modena and Bologna

A driver will meet you at your hotel for a private transfer to the food capital of Italy, Bologna. En route to “La Grassa,” you’ll whet your appetite with stops in Parma for a cheese tasting, and Modena to visit its famed makers of balsamic vinegar.

  • Day 5 - The Secrets of Handmade Pasta

Home to dishes ranging from Ragu Bolognese to mortadella to tortellini and tagliatella, Bologna is a foodie’s paradise. • Day 9 - Exploring the Dolomites

Keep those hiking boots (or shopping shoes) handy as you’ll have a full day at leisure to explore the region. Be sure to check out the limestone peaks at sunset when they come ablaze with the phenomenon known by the local Ladins as “enrosadira.”

  • Day 10 - A Negroni at Lake Como

A private driver will take you to Lake Como - the jewel of Northern Italy. Enjoy the beauty of the lakeside towns with a Negroni or Americano cocktail. And be sure to visit the Templo Voltiana in Como - a museum dedicated to Alessandro Volta, the inventor of the battery!

  • Day 11 - A Day on the Water

Spend the day exploring Lake Como by boat! Marvel at the lakeside estates, and keep your eyes peeled for locations from such well known films as James Bond’s Casino Royale and Ocean’s Twelve. Enjoy lunch and shopping in Bellagio, then admire the many classic mahogany powerboats plying the crystal waters.

  • Day 12 - Leisure on Lake Como

One last day at leisure to reflect on your Italian adventure. Perhaps you’ll take the funicular from Como to Brunate, or find a lakeside spa for one last afternoon of rest and relaxation. For dinner, enjoy a classic Northern Italian polenta.
